About the Journal

The journal The Librarian(ISSN 0006-1816) is dedicated to topics in the field of librarianship.

Since 1948, the Serbian Library Association has been publishing the journal for the theory and practice of librarianship. The journal was not published from 1997. to 2006; Renovated in 2006; published continuously since 2006.

Editorial policy is based on the circulation of ideas, publishing current and historical topics, bringing examples from practice and providing insight into current events, both through conferences or professional meetings and publishing in the field of librarianship in our country and in the world. Guided by Donald Urquhart's principle that libraries are not islands, we strive to systematically unite the works of colleagues, experts from the country and abroad, as well as the intellectual efforts of librarians, bibliographers, and archivists on presenting the profession and exchanging experiences and ideas, with the aim of contributing to the affirmation of librarianship.
